A gracious Peninsula tradition is still going strong under the direction of Francine Dominique who has recently partnered with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to give new new homeowners beautiful baskets filled with gifts from the business community and important information about Palos Verdes.
PV Welcome works very closely with Realtors, Homeowner Associations, the PV Chamber and the four Peninsula cities to provide this memorable gift to clients and new neighbors on the Peninsula.
These baskets set our prestigious area apart and make new residents feel wonderful about being greeted so warmly by their community. This lasting first impression is truly unforgettable.
Each month, these beautiful, custom baskets are personally delivered to new homeowners. Each welcome basket is filled with samples, coupons, advertising materials, and other important information about the Peninsula from local businesses to new homeowners
Currently, the PV Welcome program represents the Chamber, local businesses, library district, cultural organizations and many non-profit. The PVW program not only provides a very unique, warm, and friendly marketing program for local businesses, but it has also established a strong reputation of personalized service and trusted source of information for local residents.
A typical Peninsula Welcome Basket may contain a short history of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, a Palos Verdes phone directory, a street map of Palos Verdes, a packet from the Palos Verdes Libraries, a Peninsula People magazine, a trial subscription to The Palos Verdes Newspaper, a trial subscription to The Daily Breeze, a program from the Peninsula Symphony, a credit card and program from The Norris Theatre, a news letter from the City of Rancho Palos Verdes, a newsletter from The Palos Verdes Art Center, gifts and offerings from many of the local businesses and much, much more.
The baskets are a wonderful way to welcome new residents and businesses to this prestigious area by introducing them to local businesses and encouraging them to participate in this wonderful community.
History of the Peninsula Welcome Basket Program
In the late 1990′s, Francine Dominique started the PVW program. Previously, new residents of the Peninsula were visited by a Welcome Wagon representative. The Welcome Wagon program provided personal visits accompanied with information, coupons, and premiums from local businesses to new residents.
After researching Welcome Wagon, Francine found that the closest city that was still receiving Welcome Wagon service was South Pasadena, California. At that time, the residents on the Peninsula only received a Welcome Wagon booklet with coupons.
Being visited by a Welcome Wagon lady when she first moved to Palos Verdes, Francine realized the importance the service was to a community like the Palos Verdes Peninsula for the cities, the businesses and the new homeowners.
With enthusiastic support from the community, Francine built the business that is still going strong after 10+ years on the Peninsula.
